One of the reason I wanted to create my own instance of MediaWiki is to decide on my own best practices for me and my team. Part of that is deciding whether I want to adapt to Wikipedia's philosophy of no external links in the main body of the wiki. That sounds like a noble goal, not one that is true for my team's wiki, one that I will strive for here. I also want to strive for no orphaned pages for whatever I write--every page can be traversed to from this page.

Something that the MediaWiki framework does well is citations. I'm hoping to use this as a place to organize research notes and be able to link back to the source.
Aside from bookmarks, [[Trello]] has a good system for converting links into a title automatically--just need to paste the link. This skips a step from having to write a title and then converting the title into a hyperlink. Notion has this option. It's an option that is quicker than using Markdown syntax or Wiki Code syntax. HTML with anchor tags is the most verbose way to get a portal with links, but it allows for the most control. Introduction

When I say cosmos, I might dive a little into physics, chemistry and the stories, but mostly I will be writing about distractions, the internet and computing.

Portals

Aside from bookmarks, Trello has a good system for converting links into a title automatically--just need to paste the link. This skips a step from having to write a title and then converting the title into a hyperlink. Notion has this option. It's an option that is quicker than using Markdown syntax or Wiki Code syntax. HTML with anchor tags is the most verbose way to get a portal with links, but it allows for the most control. See my Portal for a collection of my selected links.
