YouTube

One, if not the most well known, video platform on the internet. Owned by Google and built by a community of content creators that get paid by Google by allowing ads on their videos. Companies pay Google for asking them to show ads. Alternatively, there is Vimeo, but I rarely hear about people talk about that video site anymore. That site has been less about community and feeds and more about having uploaded content that content creators can share directly. TikTok has short form content and an algorithm for automatically selecting the next video for watchers to see. YouTube adopted short form content as well with YouTube Shorts.

YouTube Premium

In the world where there is Netflix and the streaming websites that spawn from it like Disney+ and Paramount+, the content on YouTube can seem subpar to the content that you can get elsewhere, but because of the YouTube community, there is still great content for both education and for entertainment. It's also great being able to watch YouTube without ads and great being able to access the YouTube Music library for its content. I don't plan on on unsubscribing to YouTube Premium because of the music alone.

Education

When it comes to education, Kurzesagt is one of my favorite. They're topic tends to stay in the realm of physics and health. Some times it is personal about mental health. Other times, it is cosmic and is about black holes.

Entertainment

Arlo is one of my favorite reviewer on Nintendo content.
