Often times when you're clicking on a link, you don't want the link to take over the page. Developers can mark their link to open up a new tab with target="_blank". In absence of that, users can right-click on the link and select, "Open link in a new tab". However, the fastest way is to click with the mouse wheel instead of clicking with the left-click.
